in 3 words Individuality Expression Dynamism 1 Life in Montreal what do you do when you are in town What do you like about the city Montreal is a really easy city to fall in love with It took some time to get used to but as soon as I arrived I knew I would eventually feel really at home here Now every time we come back from tour I am so happy to get back into my vibe in the city and see friends it really feels like home more and more Generally during the week my routine is pretty much work to home depending on wether or not I have physiotherapy or there is something fun happening in the city More often than not its physio or Netflix There is always so much to do here which is why I always like to hang around a bit when we are on vacation before flying home to Vancouver so I can enjoy it all On the weekend you will find me getting brunch somewhere good brunch is my weakness getting drinks or dinner with friends and going for a fun night out Sunday is my day for ordering some delivery food doing laundry and preparing myself for the week ahead 2 Most people think that dancers have strict diets and regimes but what is your treat of the day or the weekend Dancers do have a fairly strict diet but most of the time it just consists of eating healthy high protein high energy foods foods to fuel the kind of high intensity work that we do Good food is important in fuelling us to get through the day In my head as long as my diet is well balanced between good and bad I m fine like most people My big rule is 80 20 though most of the time I fail at that People who know me know I m never going to turn down anything sweet you put in front of me but my biggest weaknesses are chocolate and ice cream I always have a pot of Hagen Dazs or a bar of Cadbury or Lindt chocolate in my fridge After long rehearsal days there is nothing better than indulging in your guilty pleasures with a glass of wine and Netflix Its important to treat yourself it makes everything better 3 What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started dancing professionally Something I wish I knew then that I am slowly figuring out now is that it s okay to be human What we do as our profession is so superhuman and other worldly that sometimes you lose sight of the fact that we have human feelings just like everyone we have good days bad days anxious days tearful days It is important not to lose contact with those emotions and let yourself experience them even though it is hard when we have a job to produce a certain level

Entertaining is another guilty pleasure of mine I love to have friends and family over as often as possible for food and drinks and just to have a good time I often stop by Ibiki one of my favorite boutiques in the mile end to see what new treasures they may have in stock Finally my Sundays are reserved for laundry cooking and more Netflix 2 If a child told you they wanted to be a dancer what advice would you give them If a child told me that they wanted to be a dancer I would encourage them to do whatever it is that makes them happy I would ask what it is about dance that they like because there are many paths to take depending on what aspect of dance that they are passionate about My first instinct would be to have them try a bit of everything versatility is a skill that is extremely important in the world of dance as it is in many other professions as well I would tell them that the life of a dancer is not an easy one and not without its fair share of drawbacks but it is rewarding in a way that not many people have the pleasure of experiencing I know how difficult the life of a dancer is and what sacrifice means because of my art form but I would tell any child to pursue their dreams as I understand being a lawyer is pretty hard too 3 Most people think that dancers have strict diets and regimes but what is your treat of the day or the weekend maybe It is true that as a professional athlete I need to pay attention what I put in my body Food is quite literally the fuel that keeps dancers going but as with all things it is important to find a balance otherwise we might go all Black Swan on someone When I have a treat I don t really hold back I will add that I have a particular weakness for anything Oreo 4 What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started dancing professionally Something that I wish I knew when I was starting professionally is actually something I did know but needed to actually believe to have faith in myself and trust my intuition In this career there s only a limited amount of time When I started I hid myself thinking that my time would come eventually but in reality the time was already passing me by I would tell myself that it is okay to fail but it is not okay not to try 5 Stages or cities that you ve liked the most and why My favorite cities visited so far have to be Rome or Paris They are both so different but there is a certain magic and light to each of them you really have the feeling that you are walking in a fairytale Getting
