    Directors February 20 2013 CCC The Honourable Ed Fast Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia Pacific Gateway today announced the appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Commercial Corporation CCC Martin Gagné of Blainville Quebec and Scott Player of London Ontario join the board of directors for three year terms effective immediately Our government is focused on what matters to Canadians jobs growth and long term prosperity said Minister Fast The Canadian Commercial Corporation has an important role to play in helping Canadian firms including those in defence and security win contracts and export their products and services Mr Gagné and Mr Player will help CCC continue in this role contributing to jobs growth and long term prosperity for Canadians Mr Gagné served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 23 years reaching the rank of major before joining CAE in 1996 He retired from CAE in 2012 as group president military simulation and training Mr Player retired from Enbridge Solutions Inc as vice president in 2007 after having served in various senior positions since 1999 Prior to his term with Enbridge Mr Player served as a senior executive with Diversity Lever

    International Airport Minister Ablonczy Attends Inauguration of New Quito International Airport February 19 2013 CCC The Honourable Diane Ablonczy Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Americas and Consular Affairs was in Ecuador today to attend the inauguration of the New Quito International Airport The new international airport in Quito is the biggest Canadian infrastructure project in Latin America and is the Canadian Commercial Corporation s flagship international civil engineering project The US 700 million project which began in July 2006 is one of the few greenfield airport projects in the world The airport incorporates world class technology and has been recognized by the United Nations for its environmentally responsible construction Canada is proud of the role it has played in building and financing the New Quito International Airport said Minister Ablonczy This facility is a prime example of the knowledge and expertise that Canada brings to projects around the world and is an excellent demonstration of the success of public private partnerships The new airport will help address Ecuador s growing long term needs for tourism exports and enhanced participation in the global economy notably by enabling non stop flights from Quito to Canada the United States and Europe Read
