    They spent time creating a three year plan of action focusing on ways to make young workers a more prominent and vocal part of the Alliance Sister Lauren Baert CIU National CIU National President Jean Pierre Fortin offers support to MPPAC President Rae Banwarie 6 February On February 6 2015 CIU National President Jean Pierre Fortin met with Rae Banwarie President of the Mounted Police Professional Association of Canada MPPAC Brother Fortin congratulated Brother Banwarie on the recent Supreme Court decision which gives RCMP members the fundamental right to unionize and collectively bargain with the government The CIU is pleased to offer CIU National President meets with Vancouver Branch members 6 February On February 6 2015 the CIU Vancouver Branch held its Annual General Meeting National President Jean Pierre Fortin was pleased to join over eighty members for the event including the newly elected Branch representatives All eagerly demonstrated support for CIU and PSAC in their efforts to negotiate provisions that will result in a healthier workplace Brother CIU Local 19 conducts food drive in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd 3 February On Friday December 19th members of the PSAC Customs and Immigration Union CIU Local 19 conducted a quick food drive in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd Both on duty and off duty members attended with donations In addition bargaining team member Lauren Baert was in attendance to answer any questions in relation FB team raises health and safety issues in bargaining 16 January This past week January 12 through 15 our FB bargaining team met with Treasury Board CBSA representatives to continue talks for a new collective agreement In negotiations our team made a number of proposals geared towards making CBSA a much better place to work PA bargaining team puts forward

    19 conducts food drive in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd 3 February 2015 On Friday December 19th members of the PSAC Customs and Immigration Union CIU Local 19 conducted a quick food drive in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd Both on duty and off duty members attended with donations In addition bargaining team member Lauren Baert was in attendance to answer any questions in relation FB team raises health and safety issues in bargaining 16 January 2015 This past week January 12 through 15 our FB bargaining team met with Treasury Board CBSA representatives to continue talks for a new collective agreement In negotiations our team made a number of proposals geared towards making CBSA a much better place to work PA bargaining team puts forward proposals for a healthy workplace 16 January 2015 The PA bargaining team met with Treasury Board from January 13 15 to put forward a number of proposals to advance PSAC s vision for a healthy workplace 2014 CBSA agrees to affix reflective tape identifiers to flaps on BSO vests 15 December 2014 After discussions with CIU in particular Brother Mark Weber Chair of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee and Brother André Beaulieu member of the CBSA Uniform Committee the CBSA has agreed to amend its position regarding the reflective tape identifiers On December 12 CBSA wrote to its managers indicating The concerns of officers regarding the CIU PSAC and TB CBSA resolve Unfair Labour Practice Complaint concerning erroneous information posted on CBSA intranet 3 December 2014 CIU National President Jean Pierre Fortin and CIU Labour Relations Officer Laurel Randle represented by Chantal Homier Nehmé PSAC Legal Officer and Andrew Raven of Raven Law are pleased to announce that the PSAC CIU and Treasury Board CBSA have resolved

    Rules Regulations Reports Issue Law enforcement Home Current Issues Law enforcement CBSA responds to CIU in regards to the three suspended officers from Manitoba 10 September On September 5th CIU received a letter from CBSA President Luc Portelance in response to its request that the Agency rescind the disciplinary measures it imposed on three Border Services Officers from Emerson Manitoba Mr Portelance acknowledged the importance of the issue He instructed Ms Camille Therriault Power Vice President of Human Resources and Mr Martin Bolduc Vice President of CIU asks CBSA to reinstate the three suspended officers from Manitoba 28 August Following CBSA s decision to suspend three members without pay CIU sent a letter to CBSA President Luc Portelance The disciplined officers were on duty at their port in Emerson Manitoba when an RCMP officer contacted the port with an urgent request for assistance to help apprehend a reportedly armed individual who was a suspect in a CIU vows to support officers suspended for helping RCMP undertake arrest in Manitoba 18 August Customs and Immigration Union CIU National President Jean Pierre Fortin has confirmed the CIU will do everything in its power to overturn the discipline imposed last week by the
