    money for Sick Kids Hospital Lyn Morin of Espanola placed 8th and Brent Van Norman placed 2nd in the category of age 60 and over The youngest Warrior was seventeen year old Avery Morin who participated in the race with her family Eight members of the Fat 2 Fit class which is held at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex were first time participants of the dash I never dreamed I could participate and succeed in such a physically challenging course says Onalee Bint of Fat 2 Fit but our trainers prepared us for the challenge and coached us through and over the hurdles every step of the way Succeeding at the Warrior Dash is proof that fit truly comes in all ages sizes and body shapes Members of the Domtar Fitness Centre class members of Ball and Bosu Spin as well as members of Elite Training all rose to the Warrior challenge Espanola Mayor and Council congratulate all the active warriors who competed in the event These participants are role models and ambassadors for active living and a healthy community says Mayor Lehoux Espanola is proud to be so well represented at these types of Provincial events For more information

    2014 season It is an honour that our fellow NOJHL Governors have put faith in Coach McCarthy and myself to resurrect NOJHL junior hockey in the Town of Espanola The community Mayor Lehoux and his fellow Council Members and Staff have been second to none in making our organization feel welcome Our NOJHL Executive leadership is as good as any throughout the country and we are ready to take on the newest challenge of starting a new junior hockey program for area junior hockey fans to enjoy and cheer for throughout the Lacloche Manitoulin Region The addition of an NOJHL franchise hockey team in Espanola is a significant win for both the community and hockey fans alike says Mayor Lehoux Junior A hockey is good business a boost to both our economic and community development This Organization is known as a winning team both on and off the ice their management practices cultivate leadership community stewardship by having their team and players committed to community involvement and volunteerism initiatives under the leadership of Coach Tom McCarthy Coach McCarthy a retired professional hockey player played for the Minnesota North Stars and the Boston Bruins over a span of 10 years He

    The purpose of the community based strategic plan is to set the direction for municipal policy and decision making which affect local socio economic conditions quality of life and place Based upon community input the Strategic Plan consists of a number of initiatives or action items grouped into four priorities environmental economic and social sustainability and excellence in governance Action in these four areas will enable the Town to realize its vision of the future It is important to note that the priorities defined through the community consultations took place before the Town received notice of the Domtar reassessment The financial crisis and organizational restructuring resulting from the reassessment will have an impact on the realization and timeline of many of our action items set out in this strategic plan Meeting the objectives of the plan will require the balancing of community goals and resources Realization and timelines of these Economic priorities and objectives will be determined by available resources We thank all those who have invested in the community by taking the time and care to participate in the consultation process Vision A safe healthy community in which to live work and thrive Mission Statement The Corporation of the
