    the Board of Directors If you are a member of FRAMS and have some spare time and an interest in working on a Friends committee or as a member of the Board of Directors please contact Marilyn Nelson in the FRAMS office E mail marilyn framsociety ca or Telephone 780 453 9103 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS We are looking for conscientious volunteer Board members who have an interest in leadership strategic direction and committee work and who are interested in getting actively involved with FRAMS in supporting the Royal Alberta Museum If you are interested please submit a candidate statement of 100 words or less stating your skills talents and interest in supporting the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society FRAMS Requirements include Being a member in good standing of the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society Commitment to the Mission of FRAMS Attendance at scheduled Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting AGM Willingness to serve on a committee and attend occasional committee meetings Support of and participation in special events and or fundraising events The ability to communicate by e mail Experience knowledge skills or interest in natural cultural history tourism business management board and policy

    support Alberta Community Spirit Program Donation Grant provides an opportunity for non profit and charitable organizations such as ours to receive a grant based on the total eligible cash donations we receive from individual Albertans over a 12 month period Alberta Community Initiatives Program Alberta Lottery Fund The Community Initiatives Program CIP supports project based initiatives and funding is approved on a matching grant basis In 2008 and 2009 CIP partnered funding with the Society enabled the Museum School to operate year round for the first time Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta FRIAA The Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta FRIAA has committed 1 25 million to the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society This generous gift is dedicated to support school and public programs in the Royal Alberta Museum s Wild Alberta Gallery through 2017 A portion of this sponsorship gift is also being used to enrich the visitor experience in the Wild Alberta Gallery by incorporating new technologies and additional features National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation NAAF now known as Indspire Syncrude Canada Ltd Since 1998 the Friends of Royal Alberta Museum Society has collaborated with Syncrude Canada Inc and the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation NAAF now known as Indspire to fund the Aboriginal Summer Internship Program at the Royal Alberta Museum Two 15 week summer internships are offered to First Nations Inuit and Metis students who are pursuing careers in native studies natural history or Canadian history The current five year agreement between FRAMS and NAAF expires in 2013 Other Sponsors Contributors Alberta Employment Immigration Industry STEP Program Alberta Lottery Fund Canadian Association of Science Centres Canadian Museums Association Young Canada Works Delta Edmonton South Hotel Conference Centre Edmonton Community Foundation Edmonton Numismatic Society Human Resources Skills Development Canada Canada Summer Jobs Radke Professional Corporation Royal Bank
