    we have done but because of the grace of God I am reminded of the scripture passage You are a chosen people a royal priesthood a holy nation a people belonging to God that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light I am grateful to God to pastor and to belong to this community of faith here at Glenbrook For more information please contact us either by phone or e mail God bless you Pastor Ian McWhinnie Graciela Boros Music Director Music has been a driving force in Graciela s life and work She holds a Bachelor s Degree in Piano Performance from Academy of Arts of University of Novi Sad and Masters Degree in Chamber music from the University of Belgrade Graciela immigrated to Canada in 1994 bringing with her many years of experience collaboration with opera houses and philharmonic orchestras performances and video and audio recordings in several European countries In Canada she has been pianist accompanist for many musical organizations successful piano teacher as well as a member of RCM College of Examiners She became a Music Director of Glenbrook Presbyterian church in 1994 and since then she leads a Celebration choir and Praise Team Debora Lim Director of Church Development Debora wears many different hats at Glenbrook She oversees the Sunday school and Junior youth programs organizes our annual summer UPWARD Soccer Camp as well as a number of social and educational and outreach events throughout the year A particular passion of Debora s is to help bring healing to adults and children affected by separation and divorce Glenbrook offers DivorceCare and DivorceCare 4 kids programs run by creative and caring volunteers some of whom have themselves experienced divorce In her spare time Debora enjoys spending time with her teenage daughters biking hiking and cooking Andrea Smith Administrative Assistant Andrea Smith has been Glenbrook s Administrative Assistant since 2007 She is the bubbly and friendly voice you hear when you call She is the indispensable behind the scenes person who prepares our weekly bulletins weekly e mails and generally keeps the office humming and on track She is happily married with two children a boy and a girl In her free time she enjoys jogging reading and travelling Rev Pye Chew Pastoral Student Glenbrook is blessed to have the Rev Pye Chew serving as a pastoral student under Pastor Ian until April 2016 He is a student at Knox College and is doing his theological field education with us Pye was born in multi cultural Malaysia to Chinese parents where he grew up He went to law school in Sydney Australia He practised as a lawyer for 3 years in Malaysia before coming to Canada in 1988 to study theology at Regent College Vancouver Graduating with a Master of Divinity from Regent he has had the privilege of serving as a pastor in Vancouver Brampton Richmond Hill and Mississauga in various denominations Pye believes that God

    September 16 2015 in Glenbrook Staff by Webmaster Debora Lim who has been Glenbrook s Director of Church Development since September 2010 is changing roles at the church beginning this fall Debora has felt a call to pursue full time ministry as an Ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church To achieve that end she is back at school full time and God willing will graduate in May 2019 from Knox College at the University of Toronto Debora is assuming a new part time role at Glenbrook as Pastoral Assistant In this role Debora will assist our Pastor by leading bible studies assisting with pastoral care and occasional preaching Gwenna and Debora cutting wire Debora s particular passion is working to find real needs that the church can fill and which provide opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others Evident in this has been Debora s work with our DivorceCare and DivorceCare 4 kids programs our community garden and her participation in our Nicaraguan mission trip this past summer Cynthia Starkey Director of Church Development September 16 2015 in Glenbrook Staff by Webmaster Cynthia has a love of children of all ages Creatively developing fun hands on learning opportunities is her specialty With her Early Childhood Education and approximately 20 years of experience Cynthia shares her enthusiasm and awe for the wonderful way that God works Recounting the time her family was in a car accident And then the police came and gave me a teddy bear Being a mother of two girls aged 16 and 20 has lead to a better understanding of just how much God our Father and creator loves and cares for us It is her desire to grow in relationship with God by spreading His love to those of all ages and walks of life As Director of Church Development Cynthia researches plans and organizes the church s social and outreach events In addition to this she very excitedly organizes our Sunday morning programs for newborn thru high school aged participants Matthew 10 14 16 He said to them Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom belongs tosuch as these I tell you the truth anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will not enter it And He took the children in His arms and He blessed them Remember we are all God s children Graciela Boros Music Director September 16 2015 in Glenbrook Staff by Webmaster Music has been a driving force in Graciela s life and work She holds a Bachelor s Degree in Piano Performance from Academy of Arts of University of Novi Sad and Masters Degree in Chamber music from the University of Belgrade Graciela immigrated to Canada in 1994 bringing with her many years of experience collaboration with opera houses and philharmonic orchestras performances and video and audio recordings in several European countries In Canada she has been pianist accompanist for many musical organizations successful
