    Coaches Parents Referees Officials and Spectators The Gold Cup Tournament 2016 Welcome back to another exciting year with the Gold Cup Tournament Annually the tournament attracts upwards of 100 teams ranging in age and skill to participate in a tournament that spans 2 weekends In addition to the 350 volunteers and over 5 000 spectators the tournament draws close to 1 200 participants boys girls youths and adults from across Ontario Quebec British Columbia Alberta and the United States who all compete to be recognized as the best in their division The 2016 tournament will be held on May 15th 21st and 22nd in the Greater Toronto Area Ontario we d love to see you there Each year we incorporate a theme to bring awareness about important social issues This year our theme is focusing on poverty alleviation stay tuned for more details All coaches players and teams are encouraged to read important updates for 2016 regarding the Registration Process as well as coach certification requirements on the Coaches Corner page Please check the Announcements page for latest updates Registration is open now until April 29th Tournament Objectives Unite the members of all ages of the Ismaili community and their

    Gold Cup would be changing its requirements to align with the OSA to support player development For more information on Long Term Player Development please see the OSA brochure on How Soccer is Changing in Ontario Further resources for coaches are available here For the 2016 Gold Cup Tournament we are following the guidelines of the OSA as in the past According to the OSA both the older certifications and the newer certifications are valid The accepted certifications are listed below grouped by age division Gold Cup Age Division Certification Under Old Structure New LTPD Certification Structure Boys 6 7 Boys 8 9 Girls 6 8 Level 1 or Child or higher FUNdamentals U6 U8 or higher Boys 10 11 Girls 9 11 Level 2 or Youth or higher Learn to Train U9 U12 or higher Boys and Girls 12 14 Boys and Girls 15 17 Level 3 or Senior Soccer for Life or higher U13 Coaches that have a higher certification level can still coach younger teams as per OSA guidelines If you have any questions regarding your certification level and what age categories you can coach please email info gold cup ca For anyone wishing to become newly
