    more National Engagement Strategy The National Engagement Strategy NES is a multi year initiative that began in 2009 and has involved over 2 000 individuals and 1 300 charities and nonprofits across Canada The overall objectives of the NES are to Strengthen the collective voice of the sector to advance common issues Create and strengthen linkages networks and partnerships to enhance sector effectiveness Foster knowledge exchange and innovation to build capacity Today Imagine Canada continues to convene organizations across Canada on key issues called Priorities for Action identified through the last four years of the NES Increasingly we are aligning our public policy priorities with those coming out of the NES in order to make progress on the Priorities for Action The Priorities for Action Improved conditions for the attraction and retention of paid staff More diversified and sustainable financing Better understanding of the sector and its impact Enhanced support for organizations to engage volunteers external talent If you are interested in hosting an NES presentation in your community or learning more about how your organization might help to advance the Priorities for Action please email our public policy team Ongoing support for the National Engagement Strategy is provided by
