Nothing Box Absolutely nothing in it They take it out every once in a while to get away from it all Women he said have everything interconnected and every aspect of their lives come into play for every event in their lives Women don t understand the Nothing Box They always have stuff zipping around in their minds and they are constantly connecting the dots to pull in experiences and remembrances of things of the past that they manage to incorporate into the present and relate it to what might be seen to some as something completely irrelevant But I get it now I understand the other way of thinking I never got it before about men and their capacity to tune everything else out can t they see inter connectedness the importance of what happened 5 years ago how it impacts today How can they possibly go through life compartmentalizing and blocking stuff out that matters has relevance to stuff happening today It matters in an argument or when trying to prove a point Why can t they see that What possible good does compartmentalizing do Well that was then and this is now I get it I finally really get it photo by ND 2014 I have had to learn to compartmentalize on this trip to allow me to do my job Like most people there are things going on in my life that I have no control over I have to persevere do my best trust that things will work out well I have to stay strong positive in order to contribute to good energy not feed negative energy The only way I have been able to do that is to compartmentalize focus on what is do able for the time being in blind faith with a strong belief that staying positive helps a situation much more than worry anxiety That s a hard lesson to learn for most woman We want to take away the burdens of our loved ones take them on ourselves But by learning to compartmentalize we can learn how to cope with a situation get through our day without falling apart and be ready to do what we need to do when it s time 2 Responses to Compartmentalizing Donna Messer says October 11 2014 at 2 06 pm What a wonderful message It is one worth sharing on this the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend Being able to compartmentalize will help many women realize that they don t have to be super human that they can find that box that can work for them here and now You are an amazing woman and I m very happy to know you My thoughts and prayers are with you Donna admin says October 11 2014 at 7 25 pm Thank you Donna You have been an amazing part of this awesome journey and an inspiration too Thanks for ALL the support you have given me during this voyage I have so much to be thankful

  • Bye Bye Rockies, Hello Prairies | Jeanette Arsenault - Singer & Songwriter, Ontario, Canada
me to your home town so that I can include it in my list Let me start with where I just left BC Loved Vancouver especially the English Bay area Grouse Mountain Capilano Whistler the Coastal Mountains Jasper AB train station THE ROCKIES OMG THE ROCKIES the Fraser Valley I equally loved the Prairies the fields the rolling hills the valleys the sloughs pond like water holes the skies the cloud formations the silos I never tired of the scenery as we whizzed by I loved both Alberta s ruggedness as well as Saskatchewan Manitoba s calm gentleness Northern Ontario has its own ruggednes similar to Alberta but seemed more pristine or crystal like and I think it s because of the lakes rivers around almost every bend As well as the autumn trees dressed in their brilliant reds oranges against a clear blue sky Yes Ontario you put on quite a show for us All the Western provinces did the weather was remarkably sunny warm There was one day of rain in Northern Ontario one in Edmonton and one in Vancouver 3 days in 3 weeks in the middle of Fall is not bad at all So this is my Western list of favourite Canadian places I have seen I will save my central and Eastern faves for another time I am counting down the days now till I see my brother in Hamilton for whom I have dedicated my Everyday Heroes journey see previous writings I can t wait to tell him all about what I have seen including the grizzly bears on Grouse Mountain A lot of people have been interested in Ron s story and learning more about the people who help people like Ronald such as March of Dimes whom I have partnered with You
