    World Wide Web Consortium standards please visit our Web standards page Program Collaborative Program in MSK Health Upcoming Deadlines No Further Deadlines for the JuMP Program Exsist Please visit the CMHR Program at Western Also of interest Home Program Research People Contacts Program The JuMP program was a very successful program which ran from 2009 2015 with the generous support of CIHR This program has been succeded by the Collaborative Program in MSK Health Research at Western University Canada JuMP developed researchers and clinician scientists with the research and leadership skills necessary to build transdisciplinary teams focusing on integrated therapeutic surgical and rehabilitative approaches for the management of musculoskeletal bone and joint diseases Musculoskeletal diseases often develop over years involve many interconnected biological and biomechanical pathways and manifest in clinical problems that are modulated by psychosocial factors To combat such disorders JuMP provided an integrated training approach one that combined technology biological mechanisms bioengineering approaches ethical considerations and applications in the clinic and community Program Objectives Foster the development of future leaders in Canadian medicine science and technology Enhance the number of trainees involved in transdisciplinary musculoskeletal health research Support the career advancement of trainees Move musculoskeletal research beyond discovery

  • Research - JuMP Joint Motion Program
    in MSK Health Research at Western University Canada The JuMP program incorporated a collaborative transdisciplinary approach to address important questions in musculoskeletal health The aim of this training program was to train such scientists hand in hand with a research program that focuses on understanding the role of joint motion from biomechanics to activity as it contributes to the pathogenesis prevention and treatment of joint disease JuMP integrated research in the following areas basic studies at the cellular and molecular level including bone and soft tissue degradation repair and regeneration investigations of joint motion and loading involving imaging scientists biomechanists and clinicians who visualize joints in both animal models and in humans with osteoarthritis the development of biomaterials and joint replacements involving world class surgeons and biomedical engineers studies of the interaction between joint motion and its neuromuscular control clinical and community based research to answer questions about how individuals with osteoarthritis respond to interventions and interact with their environment Arguably London and its partner institutions in Southwestern Ontario host the only team in Canada with such a wide range of demonstrated expertise in the multiple aspects of joint disease JuMP trainees were exposed continuously to state of the art
