    relating to the town s public works buildings and structures for making recommendations concerned with street paving sidewalks lighting and for the discussion of other matters brought to its attention that relate to the public works function of the municipality The Committee meets at the call of the Chair on the first Wednesday of every month The Chief Administrative Officer serves in a resource non voting capacity for the Committee The Committee provides regular monthly reports to Town Council Police Services Committee Members Councillor Mack MacLean Chair Councillor Marvin Mill Deputy Mayor Rowan Caseley Mayor Gordon Coffin ex officio Responsibilities The Police Services Committee is a standing Committee of Town Council They review concerns that are brought to its attention by Council the Chief Administrative Officer the Police Chief and the public in general They offer counsel and advice as may be considered appropriate Recommendations are made with respect to budget allocation When requested the Police Services Committee will assist the Chief Administrative Officer and Police Chief in the review of issues concerns and areas of need that if left unattended may impair the effective operation of the Town s police function The Committee meets at the call of the Chair The Chief Administrative Officer and the Police Chief typically serve in a resource non voting capacity for the Committee The Committee provides regular monthly reports to Town Council Property Committee Members Councillor Gary Gallant Chair Councillor Marvin Mill Councillor Mack MacLean Mayor Gordon Coffin ex officio Responsibilities The Property Committee is a standing Committee of Town Council They have responsibility for the review and recommendation to Council of building permit applications which fall outside the purview of the Chief Administrative Officer consideration of property acquisition boundary extension investigation into complaints of unsightly premises issues concerned with signage within the Town and for related property matters that are brought to its attention for discussion and recommendation The Committee meets at the call of the Chair The Chief Administrative Officer and the Administrative Assistant typically serve in a resource non voting capacity for the Committee The Committee provides regular monthly reports to Town Council Fire Protection Services Committee Members Councillor Rodney Mann Chair Councillor Mack MacLean Councillor Gary Gallant Mayor Gordon Coffin ex officio Responsibilities The Fire Protection Services Committee is a standing Committee of Town Council They are primarily responsible for liaison between Town Council the Volunteer Fire Department and representatives of other areas where fire service is provided i e Fire District Malpeque This committee ensures that issues and concerns affecting the delivery of adequate fire protection services for residents businesses and properties within its jurisdiction are brought to the attention of the Town Council The Committee meets and engages in discussion with the Volunteer Fire Chief and Deputy Chief s towards identifying areas of fire service concern or need The Committee reports and brings recommendations to Town Council that arise from such discussions Additionally the Committee or designated representatives meets with the appropriate Fire Department officials to present
