    outstanding research project for their systematic review on the effectiveness of hip strengthening in the treatment of patellofemoral pain syndrome In addition Kirsten won the MPT Clinical Excellence Award awarded to the graduating student who exemplified the values of respect excellence and compassion throughout clinical placements Sports have always been a big part of Kirsten s life and led her to pursue a career in physiotherapy Upon graduating from physio school she was accepted to the Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic in London ON This unique and competitive program focuses on mentorship and professional development in a multidisciplinary sports medicine environment Here Kirsten had the opportunity to work closely with highly skilled physiotherapists strength and conditioning specialists sports medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons She was the head physiotherapist for all the Fanshawe College varsity teams In addition Kirsten has worked with Hockey Canada London FC PDL soccer team and has been on the medical team for Skate Canada International Grand Prix and the World Figure Skating Championships in 2013 Kirsten believes every patient s treatment program should be individualized towards his or her specific needs and goals She uses a combined treatment approach of hands on manual therapy and soft tissue release techniques as well as return to sport rehabilitation and exercise prescription Kirsten has made professional development a very high priority early on in her career She is currently preparing to challenge her first set of exams to attain her Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy and is studying towards becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists FCAMT She is a member in good standing with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Kirsten has developed a keen interest in the treatment of concussions She has taken several courses and hopes to continue research in this area that is rapidly gaining attention both in the medical community and the media Certifications Canadian Physiotherapy Association College of Physiotherapists of Ontario Ontario Physiotherapy Association Physiotherapist Sport Physiotherapy Canada Sport First Responder Canadian Red Cross Back to top Chelsea Roesler Physiotherapist Chelsea joins Momentum Physiotherapy after three years experience in a private practice sports setting Within the clinical setting she has treated a variety of clients ranging from office workers to athletes in multiple sports On field she has worked with the Ottawa Fury Soccer Club and the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships providing event coverage In 2009 Chelsea completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with distinction She then earned her Master s of Physical Therapy in 2011 from Queen s University Chelsea has continued her professional development with a variety of post graduate courses These courses include trigger point dry needling Kinetacore acupuncture AFCI soft tissue release and New Trends in the Prevention of Running Injuries Blaise Dubois Additionally she is working towards becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists FCAMT She also has

    to be treated by a physiotherapist However if you have an extended health care plan your insurer may require a doctor s referral in order to reimburse you for the physiotherapy treatment During your treatment the vast majority of the time is spent with hands on treatment and exercise directed at the root cause of your problem How long is a treatment You can plan for your first assessment and treatment to be approximately one hour long and subsequent treatments to be 40 minutes You will have 20 minutes of one on one time with your physiotherapist at each session We do not charge by the hour we charge by the treatment When a session is slightly longer or shorter in duration we do not alter our fee How do I make an appointment You can make an appointment over the telephone by calling Momentum Physiotherapy at 613 822 0101 Someone from our friendly staff will talk to you about your physiotherapy needs and book an appointment that is suitable If you are unable to contact us during office hours you can email us at info momentumphysiotherapy ca and we will return your message the next day we are open
