Agency of Canada to participate in the alternation process The text of the policy grievance which can also be found in the list of resources on our Workforce Adjustment Web site page can be read HERE It is yet another indication that both the NHU and the PSAC are doing all we can to help our affected members through this most difficult time Indentured Servitude Posted June 18 2012 The Harper government has reached a new low when it comes to the provision of services to the Canadian public Since coming to power they have subjected public servants to Program Review the Deficit Reduction Action Plan DRAP and their latest measure Work Force Adjustment WFA all of these measures to reduce the cost of government so that they can give their friends in the business community more tax breaks The finance minister was pleased to announce that his latest round of cost saving measures the WFA would only result in a loss of some 19 200 public service jobs with very few of them being front line workers The fact is if one adds up all of recent reductions in positions the total soon adds up to about 30 000 jobs lost No matter what these former employees did that size of a reduction has to impact on the vital services government employees give the public In addition to the WFA we now have a new cruel situation which places our members in what they are calling indentured servitude In addition to being subjected to WFA many employees have to cope with their work sites being closed for cost savings or the line of work they are in being relocated to another community to buy votes As with others in a WFA situation some of our members see this as
