    the page directly Example http www yoursite com about Baseline URLs typically contain numeric parameters that are used to determine which page to display To create landing pages in the CMS you can enter a unique text string which is appended to the base URL example http www yoursite com and replaces the Baseline generated parameters You can then use this text based URL to access a page instead of the default parameter based address In addition the parameter based URL will still work as well There are several advantages to using landing pages on a website Landing page links are easier to remember and to type into a browser s location bar URLs are semantic and therefore more indicative of the actual content of a web page Links can be easily published to create landing pages for events campaigns and special offers You can create multiple language versions of landing pages so that website visitors can access pages via links in their preferred language Multi List v2 0 The Multiple List Classification type was designed to display multiple lists of Content Items or Classification nodes that are contained within a given parent Classification In the most recent Baseline release this feature was refined to improve performance and to provide Administrators with more control over the display and content of these lists Multi List Classification pages can be configured to display of up to three panels each corresponding to a child node located within the chosen Classification Each panel contains a list of items assigned to these child nodes Figure 2 Example of a Multi List Classification Node The new Multi List now provides far more flexibility than ever before For example a top level Classification node can be designated as a multi list and within it there are three child nodes with three different template styles A Content List An Event List A second level Classification node using a Classification List template The Multi List will display available items for each child node in three self contained columns Panel 1 Includes Content Items from the Content List node Panel 2 Includes Events from the Event List Panel 3 Includes any child nodes belonging to the second level Classification node Ebulletin Template Upgrades In the latest update to Baseline CMS the Ebulletin system underwent significant changes in order to comply with Email Blaster 2 2 0 and current standards for email presentation and accessibility These changes dealt primarily with the layout and code structure of Ebulletin Newsletter templates Some of these improvements include Better handling of layout The positioning and alignment of elements is now more consistent cross platform so that everything behaves as expected from design to implementation Improved accessibility Newsletters are now better supported in a variety of media including mobile formats while carefully adhering to email standards and best practices More accurate display of font styles Fonts now behave more predictably cross platform Improved support for background colours and borders Previously these attributes were a challenge for

  • NMA - About Us: Muskoka Lakes Association Upgrades to Latest Version of Baseline CMS
    2011 The Muskoka Lakes Association recently upgraded their website to Baseline CMS version 3 2 The new site s architecture has been overhauled and built around MLA s four major initiatives water quality land use and environmental planning taxation and public policy and water and boating safety MLA s last redesign was done by NMA in late 2007 A rotating image carousel on the homepage prominently displays news about each initiative and a new navigation menu with animated jQuery controls gives users quick access to each section of the site To enhance the communication process with members MLA can tap into the power of social media The site offers complete integration with Facebook and Twitter and includes a custom Twitter feed on the homepage MLA s Ebulletin system was enhanced for more flexibility Specific members or groups of members i e a particular committee can be targeted for a given Eblast using advanced filtering for distribution groups Ebulletin templates and styles were updated to comply with current email standards and best practices improving the look of Ebulletins and making them easier to configure An easy to use secure online payment system was put into place to help with membership sign up and renewal NMA helped create a custom credit card processing form that allows members to update their membership status pay dues and even donate to several MLA initiatives from the site All membership payments are now processed within the CMS instead of through Paypal Multiple administrators handled the website over the years so new Storage List Display Objects were introduced to provide better organization of information and content including within both member and director extranets Finally training was conducted with MLA staff to familiarize them with several of the new features Email a friend Print Feedback Related Links Muskoka

  • NMA - About Us: Ontario Aerospace Council Website Takes Off
    is more comprehensive in nature and reflects the OAC s core purpose to be the voice of the Ontario aerospace industry and to increase Ontario s share of the global aerospace market OAC s design firm Avalanche Communications took the first step in revitalizing the website s graphic and design elements NMA took over the reins once the design was completed and built the new OAC website upon the latest version of Baseline v 3 2 A new splash page and bolder graphics have been added and the site s architecture was streamlined for a cleaner look OAC s domain name also changed from ontaero org to theoac ca NMA worked closely and effectively with the OAC to ensure that our objectives were met We are very pleased with the creation and delivery of the OAC s new website and have received extremely positive feedback said Rod Jones Executive Director of the Ontario Aerospace Council Tradeshows conferences and networking events are a vital part of OAC s business One of the main features in version 3 2 is a new dynamically populated event calendar OAC members can find events through a customizable interactive calendar that works in three different modes month week and an agenda style day view They can switch between these modes with a simple click of a button OAC s Ebulletin newsletter templates were upgraded too They now offer better handling of layout improved accessibility more accurate display of font styles and improved support for background colours and borders These changes will make OAC s communications more compliant with the majority of commonly used e mail clients and webmail applications such Gmail and Yahoo as well as all the latest versions of current browsers Email a friend Print Feedback Related Links Ontario Aerospace Council http www theoac

  • NMA - About Us: Announcing the Release of Baseline CMS Version 3.2
    The Event Details pop up also contains a link that allows users to download event data in an ics file and then open this file in Outlook or any other iCalendar application The calendar is available in three different modes month view week view and an agenda style day view Users can switch between these modes with a simple click of a button Figure 2 Event Calendar Month view with details Classification node Display Objects In the latest release of Baseline CMS functionality was added to allow Display Objects to be inserted into the top of Classification node pages The implications of this change are enormous It now means that website Administrators have more options for displaying specialized content throughout an entire website Previously Display Objects could only be located in specific areas of a website interface Now any type of Display Object can be used on any Classification page and any number of Display Objects can be embedded on a given page or even reused on multiple pages This new functionality offers far more flexibility since you can now create and manage Display Object content separately in the Display Objects Instances area of the CMS without having to worry about how it would affect the rest of the Classification page content In previous versions of Baseline CMS this could only be accomplished by adding some custom code to the page introduction using the HTML Editor This would require some advanced knowledge of coding languages and how they are handled within Baseline If this content ever needed updating the code would have to be edited manually the same way for every Classification page on which it appears By using embedded Display Objects you can make changes to a single object and it will be updated simultaneously for all instances of it in use on the website Similar functionality is being planned for future releases of Baseline that will allow Display Objects to be embedded in Content pages Figure 3 Display Object Image Gallery on a Classification page MultiImage Display Objects A collection of new Display Objects were to extending Baseline s ability to display images and related content in a variety of ways These MultiImage Objects display a sequence of images with built in controls that allow users to select and view each image with their respective caption Features common to all MultiImage Objects include The ability to add images from Baseline Storage Titles and captions for each image The ability to link to associated content or external websites Optional text based descriptions An autoplay setting that controls the timing of automatically scrolling images The new MultiImage Display Objects come in four different configurations Image Gallery Images are displayed with caption overlays and thumbnail images are used for navigation Controls are also included for scrolling thumbnails Figure 4 Image Gallery as seen on www nma ca Image Slideshow Like the Image Gallery images are displayed with caption overlays and navigation controls but the Image Slideshow has a simpler interface that

  • NMA - About Us: NMA Orchestrates a New Web Presence for ACWC
    Media Architects Ltd The ACWC wanted a fresh new look that would appeal to a new generation of members The first phase of development addressed these needs with a complete redesign by web designer Eddie Ruminski The existing website content was reorganized and updated and built using Baseline CMS website content management system The new website also includes an online registration form that makes it easier for new members to sign up and for existing members to renew their membership We are thrilled to have something that our members can go to get information and the work you did was awesome said ACWC s Communications Coordinator Hillary Thomson Further praise was expressed by other members What a fantastic updated website for the ACWC I am really looking forward to the 2nd phase as well sounds really exciting and a wonderful start Congratulations to everyone involved A second phase of development is planned which will involve importing the ACWC s member database into Baseline CMS and building a member s extranet About the ACWC The Association of Canadian Women Composers is the only professional association of women composers and musicians in Canada It actively supports music written by Canadian women The
