GROUP BENEFITS PLANS Type of Leave Employer paid Benefits Employee paid Benefits Notes Leave Without Pay separate from 52 weeks of Parental Leave Basic life insurance for the first 4 months if paid by CBC Radio Canada prior to the start of absence If the absence follows the 52 weeks of Parental Leave may only continue those benefits that were active at the end of the Parental Leave Discontinued benefits may not be restarted or reactivated All benefits CBC Radio Canada or employee paid may be continued at the employee s expense Pre payment with post dated cheques is required Compassionate Care Leave See http laws lois justice gc ca eng acts l 2 page 95 html docCont All benefits remain in force CBC Radio Canada will continue to pay the premiums for hospital medical provincial coverage in the provinces where premiums apply Employee paid benefits may be continued at the employee s expense Pre payment with post dated cheques is required Employee entitled to unpaid leave for up to 8 weeks Prior to the leave must choose which benefits plans will be maintained throughout the period of leave Pre payment with post dated cheques is required Leave Related to Critical Illness See http
