    ceremonies on Saturday A few days before Saturday s ceremony Brother Edward La Marche was installed as Worshipful Master of the Kinistino Lodge No 1 behind closed doors We re not a secret organization but we have some secrets Fraser said La Marche said being installed as master of the lodge was an honour Actually my father was a mason before me he said It s something that since I was a child I was always interested in and it seemed to be a right time to get involved with the community La Marche added he had never addressed his father s time with the freemasons until he considered applying My father said I ve been waiting 15 years for you to ask me about it La Marche said That s why I applied and went through the initiation and through the degrees and then the chairs Right Worshipful Brother Alan Fraser right is escorted into the installation ceremony at the Prince Albert Masonic Lodge on Saturday Fraser was installed as the director of ceremonies for the Kinistino Lodge No 1 During Saturday s ceremony each officer to be installed was escorted to the front of the room by another member in a red coat Each mason also wears an apron with a certain pattern and design which represents their rank and lodge The Kinistino Lodge No 1 is the oldest lodge in Saskatchewan Established in 1897 the Kinistino Lodge was around when Prince Albert was still a village that belonged to the North West Territories The local organization s membership has fluctuated throughout its 123 year history At its peak in 1910 about 200 members belonged to the Kinistino Lodge No 1 including past Prime Minister John Diefenbaker Currently the lodge has 93 members some of whom live in
