    elected district members are also members of the Youth Programs Committee The Board of General Purposes has 7 standing committees which are Grand Master s Address and Jurisprudence Fraternal Relations Administration and Finance Communication and Public Relations Lodge Development and Renewal Masonic Education and Research Youth Programs Grand Lodge is anything but inaccessible It is as close as your District elected representative whose job it is to carry your wishes and thoughts to the Board of General Purposes It is as close as your telephone too The office is open from 8 30 am to 5 00 pm Monday to Friday and the Grand Secretary will always lend a sympathetic ear to whatever you have to say The door is always open to the members and visitors during regular business hours and you are most welcome to come and enjoy a cup of coffee with the Grand Lodge office staff and exchange ideas There is only one rule don t make fun of the coffee for you too may be old and weak some day In future articles we will deal with the functions and operation of the various committees and how amendments are made to the Constitution and Regulations that govern the Craft in this jurisdiction We will point out why each member is considered part of Grand Lodge and how you can control the destiny of your organization The Committee on Grand Master s Address and Jurisprudence is made up primarily of Past Grand Masters Its prime duty is to consider and report on the Grand Master s annual address at Grand Lodge Communication each year It critiques his message and reviews any recommendations he may make to ensure they are compatible with the Constitution and Regulations of the Grand Lodge Another of its primary functions is to review and consider all motions for amending or altering the Constitution or Regulations and check for their regularity This is why all proposed resolutions for the Annual Communication must be in the Grand Lodge office by the middle of February to be considered at the June Communication It DOES NOT approve or disapprove any of these motions but only ensures that they are in the proper form for formal consideration of the Brethren at the Annual Communication It also confers with the Grand Master on all questions and decisions of Masonic law and usage presented to them for their approval and decision Many of the decisions arrived at by this Committee end up as Approved Rulings in the Constitution This Committee may be considered the judicial arm of the governing body of Masonry in the jurisdiction as it is to consider and report with such recommendations as it may deem proper upon all documents and papers relating to any matter of complaint or grievance appertaining to Masonic discipline and all appeals from the decision of any Lodge or the Master thereof and upon all petitions for restoration which may be referred to it The Committee on Fraternal Relations is the
