    8 wards which each consists of three beds Each room includes a private bathroom is electrically heated with an autonomous control and offers the benefit of natural light from large windows Our rooms are comfortably furnished with a bed three drawer desk clothes closet and easy chair We encourage residents and their families to furnish and decorate their room with as many personal touches as possible Our maintenance personnel will verify that the electrical items are safe and within Nursing Home Act standards Each residents room is provided with an individual call bell at bedside and washroom We offer a lock unit with an electronic door system to ensure the safety of our residents mainly for our wanderers The Home s layout consists mainly of one level comprising three wings the dining rooms the nursing office a large common lounge and the administration offices The lower level serviced by an elevator includes an activity room a chapel a hairdresser barber shop a laundry room a private palliative care room for the use of family members when needed for rest periods and overnight stays An enclosed garden area is available and accessible to residents using wheelchairs walkers or canes Families and

    all our residents by ensuring that opportunities are available accessible and developed to assist and motivate each individual resident for growth in all dimensions of life being physical psychological spiritual and social We encourage the involvement of the residents families and representatives in the decision making processes concerning their individual plan of care Our Home is staffed with qualified and experienced health care professionals We endeavor to offer services to our residents in their language of preference being French or English We ensure that residents services and care are delivered with the highest quality by implementing appropriate staffing patterns by having a Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day by obtaining the necessary supplies and equipments by recruiting the services of other allied health care professionals such as laboratory mobile X Ray physiotherapy occupational therapy pharmaceutical dentist podiatry psychogeriatric services and the services of an optometrist all of whom visit the facility Residents are visited weekly by an attending physician We presently have two attending physicians that visit the Home they are also available when needed The Home is affiliated with all hospitals of Ottawa and surrounding regions Residents are referred to the hospital of their choice We offer

    no added salt and others as per physician s orders The residents are provided with three complete meals daily with a second choice of entrée between meal snacks and supplements as required Meals are served around 8 00 a m for breakfast around 12 00 noon for lunch and around 5 00 p m for diner In between meals snacks are served either in the residents rooms or in the main living room they are provided in the morning around 10 00 a m in the afternoon around 2 00 p m and in the evening around 8 00 p m We have two dining rooms where the residents may eat their meals The first dining room is for residents who require minimal supervision and assistance although a health care aide and dietary aide are always present in this dining room The second dining room is designated mainly for residents who require ongoing supervision or for those requiring more assistance or complete feeding from qualified health care personnel Family and friends are encouraged and supported by all members of personnel to join their loved ones for meals either to assist with feeding them or to keep them company throughout the
