  • Jackie Rabbit Makes a Choice
her Why yes here she is Ladies and gentlemen girls and boys my lovely assistant Jacqueline With a magical wave Marvin pulled Jackie out of his sleeve by her ears He kept her dangling before the laughing children Voila my friends Here she is Jackie Rabbit Marvin cried Marvin Jackie whispered Put me down before my ears come off How Jackie Rabbit hated her job Marvin plunked her down on the table in front of him Then he made a pigeon appear and set it on her head Ugh thought Jackie Cold feet again She said to herself I ve had it I m getting out of show business Let s see how Marvin likes my disappearing act While Marvin searched for magic coins and made them appear behind children s ears Jackie Rabbit made a flying leap off the stage The pigeon squawked and flapped its wings Jackie hopped through the crowd of little feet and headed for the parking lot Jacqueline come back called Marvin I ll give you extra carrots twice a week But there was no stopping Jackie Rabbit She was at the road side before she paused to catch her breath Which way shall I go she wondered Across the road she could see a meadow with a forest beyond Down the road Jackie knew she would find the town where the circus had been the day before Up the road who could say Jackie Rabbit could hear Marvin s feet thumping as he ran after her Jackie took a deep breath Then she dashed away to start a new life without the circus Something to think about If you were Jackie Rabbit which way would you choose Can you guess which way she went Jackie Rabbit went to town She was a circus rabbit
