    Saskatchewan Landing Regional Water Pipeline Utility The successful applicant must possess a Class II Water Treatment certification valid in Saskatchewan or be eligible to gain the required certification in the near future This position will report to the Water System Operations Supervisor and be responsible for all aspects of water treatment required to provide safe water to a variety of urban and rural water users Experience operating reverse osmosis water treatment plants will be considered an important asset but not mandatory Additional certification in water distribution and or waste water treatment will also be considered an asset This is a new facility and is part of a new regional water system This position will also operate a secondary new reverse osmosis water treatment plant as a relief operator and check maintain a 600 km rural water pipeline with booster reservoirs A willingness to learn new skills and technologies will be useful to the position The rural water pipeline project is near the end of construction Salary will be based on the experience and certification of the successful applicant Only those applications meeting the position requirements will be contacted Resumes and accompanying information will be received at the following address until

    regulations and license requirements The operators will have to perform some of their duties with some exposure to chemicals noise and odors heavy lifting standing climbing may work in inclement weather conditions as well as at heights in confined spaces DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operations 10 hour shifts may include evenings weekends or possible overtime Perform required parameter tests on plant operations using a variety of procedures adjusting plant operations as required Maintain chemical feed stocks such as clear pak plus potassium permanganate gaseous chlorine at suitable levels for plant operation This may require heavy lifting Check systematically all plant processes and equipment to ensure proper operation and record operating characteristics Assist to orientate staff in plant operations Perform equipment maintenance and repair work including disassembly re assembly and installation General building maintenance repair and product loading unloading All other duties as assigned Qualifications Education to be Given Consideration Preference will be given to Graduates of Water Resources Engineering Technology SIAST or other Post Secondary education in Engineering or Natural General Sciences however others are encouraged to apply Journeymen Technician Apprentice Courses such as electrical plumbing instrumentation will be an asset Must have Grade XII or equivalent or a combination of education experience Preference will be given to those candidates who have achieved Level 1 II or III certification WHMIS Confined Space Entry TDG and First Aid CPR will be required Working with chlorine extensive knowledge of chlorine safety an asset Mechanical ability an asset Water treatment plant operations experience an asset Excellent health position requires significant walking climbing and lifting Maintain harmonious work relationships Valid Saskatchewan Vehicle Operator s License with Air endorsement an asset Salary range in accordance with CUPE 287 Collective Agreement Pay rates hr based on Level of Certification First Year Uncertified Operator 20 75 Level II

    Plant Closing Date 2014 11 02 Location Town of Outlook The Town of Outlook is currently seeking an Equipment Operator Water Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator The Equipment Operator portion of the position requires the proficient operation and maintenance of municipal equipment Backhoe Grader Wheel Loader etc on a day to day basis Mechanical abilities is an asset The Treatment Plants Operator is jointly responsible for the treatment collection distribution and daily operations of the Class II Water Treatment Plant and Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant The operator will also jointly institute plant policies and procedures in strict accordance with all provincial regulations The position involves Shift work working alone and participation in the stand by schedule Performing facility operations and maintenance tasks related to process monitoring and optimization Reporting and detailed record keeping Qualifications Hold a Minimum Level 2 Water Treatment Certificate Hold a Minimum Level 2 Water Distribution Certificate Hold a Minimum Level 2 Wastewater Collection Certificate Hold a Minimum Level 2 Wastewater Treatment Certificate Candidate should have 3 5 years experience in operating water and wastewater facilities and construction installation and repair of water and wastewater mains and service connections Hold a valid Class 3 Drivers License with air brake endorsement is preferred A yearly copy of driver s license abstract is required Education and Training is ongoing 3 6 CEU s are the minimum requirement every three years to keep certificates valid WHIMIS TDG training Confined Space Entry and Rescue Trenching Safety First Aid and Defensive Driving as well as Flagging Safety Traffic Control and OHS legislation are assets Candidate must be physically fit accountable to work independently and be a self starter The expected salary scale for the position is 40 570 41 to 52 748 46 per year and will be based on proven experience
