    strategic direction for THE EXCHANGE Network on behalf of members According to Fred Cook Chair of the Board It is an important opportunity to support and shape the direction of the network for the benefit of all financial institutions holding membership Directors attend 6 7 meetings annually of which 4 are in person and 3 by conference call Additionally there is an annual 1 day planning session Each director takes a position on either the Finance Audit Committee or the Governance Committee We value and respect all our members and have a desire to see all regions of the country represented on our Board We follow a formal process each year with members in the nomination process which runs from February through to May says Linda Matheson Network General Manager This year Ficanex filled 3 three year positions on its Board from a total of 9 nominations Returning Directors include Fred Cook Chair Mr Cook has worked for two successful British Columbia credit unions at a senior technology management level for over 19 years He is currently with North Shore Credit Union as CIO VP Central Services and Facilities He has a solid industry background with an entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on leveraging current technologies to introduce new business opportunities Over the years Mr Cook has been involved with a number of industry related committees the most recent and relevant being the British Columbia ATM Switching Task Force He was appointed to the Board in 2006 Jeremy Trigg Vice Chair Mr Trigg has been with Vancity Savings Credit Union for 26 years He has been in his current position Director of Facility Management since 1992 He has been involved with ATM and EFT POS issues since 1986 and FICANEX Services since May 1999 when he played a key role in the formation of the company Mr Trigg also served as the President of FICANEX Services Limited Partnership until late 2007 He was appointed to the Board in January 2008 Andrew Obee Mr Obee has been part of the credit union system for 11 years He has considerable experience in ATM and card network related issues and a solid background in information technology strategic planning and back office operations Mr Obee is currently the Vice President Delivery Operations at Meridian Credit Union in Ontario He has been on the board since 2007 Simon Chan Mr Chan is the current Director Strategic Initiatives for Manulife Bank of Canada responsible for managing a business services team that supports Manulife Bank in the delivery of projects user testing training and daily support He has diverse background in banking investment management and group pensions where he has held a variety of roles in finance sales marketing operations projects and training Mr Chan holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University Waterloo and Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology University of Waterloo Mr Chan is also holds the CFP designation Certified Financial Planner Welcome to our New Directors Rick Kelln Mr Kelln has

    of our innovative and exciting ATM Partner Program was recently announced and met with a great deal of enthusiasm from our members Ficanex has partnered with Threshold Financial Technologies to offer all members an opportunity to add to our network through the addition of off premise ATMs co branded with the Financial Institution and THE EXCHANGE network Members will identify suitable locations for the ATMs and upon acceptance Threshold will provide everything else installation management services and vault cash A small lease cost plus surcharges collected on transactions completed on networks other than THE EXCHANGE network will fund the program This is a unique opportunity for Members to increase their profile in the communities they do business while at the same time supporting THE EXCHANGE network to become a stronger and more prominent surcharge free network a benefit to both members and their cardholders said Linda Matheson Network General Manager It is an expansion program for the network we are very excited about A pilot program with North Shore Credit Union will be rolled out in the first quarter of 2011 and Member Kits with all the details will be distributed to members shortly after that Stand back your ATM network is about to become bigger and better than ever CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Watch your mailbox around mid February for our annual Call for Nominations In 2011 there will be two director positions available to be filled both three year terms We welcome nominations from all regions of the country from any size financial institution both banks and credit unions This is your opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of your ATM network We look forward to hearing from you DONATIONS Each year FICANEX Services makes corporate donations to charitable organizations across the country in the communities where our

    to announce that once again this year we will be holding our annual employee contest This very popular contest draws thousands of entries each year and is designed to help all employees learn more about THE EXCHANGE network and the services we offer The cash prizes were so well received last year that we have made sure there will be lots of cash to be won this year as well Look for contest details in your mail box by mid May WHAT S UP The Central Switch Provider Threshold Technologies Inc as well as our other switch providers know that uptime is essential to delivering excellent ATM services to all of our Members cardholders We are pleased to report the Central Switch responsible for all inter institution traffic flow between Members within Canada and the USA had the following availability over the last 3 months DIRECTOR REPLACEMENT PROCESS This year we were very pleased to receive a total of nine nominees for our two available Board positions two from incumbent directors and seven from new candidates It is a very positive sign that so many of our membership are interested in serving on our Board said Fred Cook Chair of the Board We are looking for further diversification and representation from other areas of the country to assist Ficanex in delivering a strategic roadmap for the future of our shared ATM network Polling of our Limited Partners for the selection of the Board positions commenced on April 1st and continues until April 15th New or returning Board Members will be announced by email on May 6th MEMBER SURVEY In February 2011 as in 2010 Ficanex commissioned Angus Reid Public Opinion to conduct an on line survey of our 228 Financial Institutions to gauge your satisfaction with THE EXCHANGE Network and FICANEX Services We thank those of you who took the time to respond to the survey questions as the feedback you have provided is very important to us The survey results showed overall satisfaction with THE EXCHANGE Network remains strong in 2011 with 90 moderately or very satisfied with the network as compared to 85 in 2010 The most selected reasons for satisfaction were cited as being good value secure and dependable Loyalty to THE EXCHANGE Network also remains high at 85 Consistent with 2010 Ficanex s management of THE EXCHANGE Network was rated by 4 out of 5 Members as being moderately or very satisfied Members who reported they were unhappy with management pointed to the roll out of the EMV chip technology and issues with communication as the reasons In 2010 many members cited a quarterly newsletter would be their ideal communication piece and as such this newsletter was started in 2010 The 2011 survey showed 82 are happy with this communication and we are delighted to continue its quarterly publication and distribution to you Lastly we asked you what you would like Ficanex to focus on and you responded innovation communication and providing good value are what
