    Millar which continues to screen at international film festivals She was co choreographer and playwright for the multi media work Norman produced by 4Dart and directed by Victor Pilon and Michel Lemieux which premiered at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa in April 07 and has since toured to Mexico Columbia Europe and Asia Her newest work Rhyming Couplets premiered at Tangente in May 2008 Rhyming Couplets Rhyming Couplets is a dance about 2 couples yes another one that is to say a boy and a girl and a boy and a girl girls and boys do exist after all In it we are witness to the elusive and tenuous moments between the couples as they communicate in fragile and conflicting ways we will see them try and sometimes fail and that may very well be the best part In this we see ourselves our own humanity reflected back and if we recognize the beauty and the sincerity of that moment of failure perhaps we can accept our own see our own beauty more clearly Also it is funny and sincere and sometimes even absurd We cannot help but brush up closely to the thing we desire most to avoid

    Pamela Newell Thea Patterson and Benjamin Read Katie also tours under the name Cat Pontoon performing a faux rockumentary at music festivals across Canada Katie s early performance education was with Winnipeg s School of Contemporary Dance and Primus Theatre Returning to Concordia University for part time studies she focused on dance composition with Silvy Panet Raymond while pursuing side interests in visual art and art history Other formative studies where with Ginelle Chagnon Peter Bingham Stephanie Skura and Chrysa Parkinson Rock Steady Fraught with tension and release Rock Steady is an exploration of energy resistance and flux In life things can get unstable Rock Steady examines matter and energy both at a molecular scale and figuratively through conflict and interaction between personalities there is acquiescence resistance and transformation This is a dance about invisible energy producing something tangible and visible Rock Steady humanizes and explores aggression and harmony looking for the primordial connection between us as human beings and that matter which makes up our molecular energetic and emotional composition At times uncomfortable beautiful ugly funny arrhythmic and dissonant cells in a body become agitated with personality Clashes and accidents of co existence mirror the fundamental basis of our
