    is welcomed in the community by donors and buyers alike All leftover items are donated to the Oasis charity The money raised helps fund the Christmas hamper program and other ministries of the churches Greeters The members of this ministry are receptive and compassionate to the needs of visitors providing them with the assistance and information they require to ensure a positive and welcoming experience Healing Ministry The Healing Ministry of Anointing and Prayer is generally held on the third Sunday of each month as part of the worship service The Lay anointers meet monthly with the Rector to pray to study and to prepare for the service Lay Synod Delegate Currently St Cyprian s has two lay members who participate in Synod meetings The number of members is determined by the Diocese of Toronto Synod meetings are held every second year In the same year a separate financial synod is held in the Fall The lay delegates attend and share discuss the items and issues covered with the congregation The lay delegates also participate in electoral synods which are held when required to elect a new bishop NeighbourLink A number of members volunteer along with volunteers from other area churches to serve the community through participating in regular home visitations driving to medical appointments answering the telephones and responding to requests and assisting in the office Because of the support from NeighbourLink many people in this community are able to remain in their homes Newsletter The Synergist The Synergist is published two to four times a year depending on contributions and a copy is now available on our website Outreach Our Outreach program generally includes the following projects Visits to the sick and hospitalized Church services at Gibson House senior residence and to the long term care facility NeighbourLink manning the office telephones visiting and driving Mission to Seafarers donations of money and supplies annual visit Flemington Park donations of money and supplies Tri Church benevolent fund and food bank donations as well as vegetables from our community garden to a food bank and other nearby organizations who assist others Participant in Operation Shoebox packing shoeboxes at Christmas to be sent to children around the world Tri Church Christmas Hamper program providing food and children s gifts to families in our community Hand delivered invitations to our services throughout the community Christmas remembrances to Gibson House residents long term care patients and shut ins Annual Garage sale Community Garden Parish Twinning Pastoral Care The mission of the pastoral care ministry is to connect and keep in touch with all members of St Cyprian s in a caring way Each of the eight team members oversees a number of parishioners Prayer Chain The Prayer Chain team has three chains with 14 prayer partners who pray for members of the parish as well as others for whom prayers are requested Readers and Servers and Crucifers This team works very hard assisting the rector during the services thereby making the services more
