    Originally from Petrolia Ontario Ms Stephenson spent many years in the Canadian telecom industry before joining Ivey As a widely respected CEO she brings more than 30 years of progressive experience in marketing operations strategic planning technology development and financial management to Canada s premier business school Carol Stephenson currently serves on several Boards for top Canadian companies and has served on important Government Committees She is a Director of Intact Financial Services Corporation formerly ING Canada Manitoba Telecom Services Inc Ballard Power Systems Inc and General Motors Company Ms Stephenson was Chair of the Federal Government s Advisory Committee on Senior Level Retention and Compensation and was Chair of the Ontario Research Fund Advisory Board She was a member of the Prime Minister s Advisory Council on Science and Technology and on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Olympic Games Organizing Committee VANOC Carol Stephenson has earned significant recognition for her community work and industry involvement over the years 2012 Received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal 2011 Named to the Women s Executive Network WXN Canada s Most Powerful Women Top 100 Corporate Directors 2010 Named to the Women s Executive Network WXN Canada s Most Powerful Women Top 100 Trailblazers and Trendsetters 2009 Appointed Officer Order of Canada 2008 Inducted into Canada s Telecommunications Hall of Fame 2005 Inducted into the Canadian Information Productivity Awards Hall of Fame for her contribution to building a competitive telecommunications industry in Canada 2005 Named to the Women s Executive Network WXN Canada s Most Powerful Women Top 100 Champions 2004 Named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women by the National Post 2001 Received the acclaimed Woman of Distinction designation from the YWCA 1995 Named Woman of the Year by the Canadian Women in Communications Association Ms Stephenson
