and found the needed yarn My Cascade 220 was a fantastic red colour that provides an accidental irregular self striping which I love And the Madil Yarns Kid Seta gives it a fuzzy look and feel and takes away the itchiness of wool Because the cast on would have required very short needles and I m really not into using four double pointed at this point I decided to use Magic Loop technique This is a GREAT technique if you have long circular needles for anyone on a budget I really recommend the Denise Interchangeable set I have the pink set But because of my Magic Loop usage you can see some laddering in the right leg warmer in the photo above But it didn t bother me really because the leg warmers are for me and once on your legs the laddering is neither noticeable nor visible I bought the recommended two skeins of each yarn and I still have lots left so I m thinking of making up a set of wrist warmers to match I won t be doing the spiral ribbed pattern in Last Minute Knitted Gifts that s for some other yarn I have in my stash So I just need to figure out my gauge and how long I want them and then start knitting I ll probably start them from the top make a thumb hole and then decide as I knit how long I want them to be I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics

Instead of suffering three hours in bumper to bumper gridlock he ll invite a friend out for dinner or a drink and wait until 6 30 p m or so and drive home without any problems His take on the whole big city perspective left me thinking If you ask any of my friends from back home Newfoundland Labrador they would say I live in a big city But I also have friends who are from small outport communities in my home province and they would consider moving to St John s as a move to the big city Heck I remember visiting my in laws who live about an hour outside of Tononto and while waiting for a Greyhound at the lovely bus terminal I approached a local teen and had the following discussion Me Hi Do you know if the next bus going to Toronto is already here Teen No it s not here yet but it ll be pulling in over there points over to the 5 spot Me Oh ok Thanks Teen sulks a little You re luckly you re going to Toronto Me currently homesick for Newfoundland Thanks but I don t feel overly luckly Teen Yeah well it s better than being stuck HERE It didn t take a rocket surgeon to tell she wasn t overly proud or loving her current community And she s probably just a normal teen who can t wait to get out and move into the big city Toronto the Big City Some of my friends who aren t in Toronto find it amazing that I don t mind living here and that I don t find it overwhelming I think their amazement is more a transference on how they wouldn t want to be in my shoes And I ll be honest I know a lot of people who would do very well in a larger population but there are a lot who would go insane and be lost to all of society I don t mean to sound harsh but not everyone is cut out for certain conditions Example riding the subway in rush hour Besides the clastriphobic tendencies a lot of us get when gammed into a tin can subway car like a sardine you suddenly become up close and personal with dozens of people I ll admit I suppress a lot of rage sometimes when riding public transit Compare that to an average day in St John s where I d likely commute in my own car possibly alone and I d really only experience the closest thing to population overcrowding by going into a supermarket on a Government cheque day or the liquor store the day before a civic holiday But is somewhere like Toronto really all that big city According to Worldatlas com s city population lists Toronto isnt the first city on the list in fact we don t even make the top 10 Toronto is actually number 50 on the

a comment Image Credit Blackcoffetwosugars blogspot com according to http bit ly sMPQD1 I m here and here and here and There are so many social media channels tools and places nowadays It s hard to keep track Heck I want to make this contact page more snazzy and whenever I go to edit I think Oh I should had my account on such and such account here Continue reading A road less traveled Posted on August 22 2011 Posted in 2011 GSE 2012 Rotary Taiwan I have exciting news News that some family a few friends and a handful of coworkers are awaiting to hear As part of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Program I am traveling to Taiwan in March 2012 for four weeks Dates and details have to be worked out but this is going to be an amazing and life changing experience As noted on the website The Rotary Foundation s Group Study Exchange GSE program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers I learned about this program in late June while attending some local Rotary meetings with my dean Dr James Rourke He was a guest presenter talking about the exciting developments we have in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland In addition to an expansion to our medical school we will soon have a new genetic research centre After Dr Rourke completed his presentation and attendees started to trickle out a few Rotarians encouraged me to submit an application for the GSE It was a little crazy that week as I was cluing up a few things at work before taking two weeks of vacation but I was able to put together a strong application package A few weeks later I was contacted by our Rotary district GSE coordinator letting me know that I was amongst a group of applicants selected for in person interviews I m so appreciative to the Rotary Club of St John s Northwest District 7820 and the amazing Rotarians there who took time out of their busy days to speak with me prior to my application submission and also before my interviews this past weekend in Halifax I suddenly have a new network of amazing leaders who are doing great things in our community and are contributing to a greater good on a global scale This was exciting but unexpected news and it has happened so quickly I feel truly blessed and fortunate to be selected for this program that will help build my professional skills broaden my cultural perspective and allow me to learn new things about myself Not only will I have a chance to possitively impact communities in Taiwan but I will be able to bring back what I have learned when I return to St John s NL I believe this will be an adventure of personal and professional growth
