and promote articles photos and videos from across the web It s an interesting concept and I ve seen some various people using including some parenting bloggers and other industry specific social media accounts primarily on Twitter NL Blogger s Daily is something that Stephen Harris seliharris of NLBlogRoll has and I tend to give I quick look now and then since it s a great list of local blogger updates It s always interesting to see when social media channels crossover I think it helps to keep conversations going It adds an element of fluidity to the whole thing Maybe you see a news article on Twitter and there s a hashtag you can follow to read what others are saying Then you pop over to Facebook and see other people talking commenting and sharing information about the same topic The conversation continues How often will I recall a piece of news I read yet I ll have difficulty remembering if it was originally read either in a news alert an post on Facebook a tweet on Twitter or on a website or online news service Sometimes this can cause repetition and a lot of noise And often it can cause certain news stories to seem more important because people active in social media are either sharing the information at a higher frequency or you just notice it more because you re not hearing about the other stuff that s floating around in the news world But don t worry I won t let this go to my head I ll try to stay grounded and humble Oh hai 2013 Posted on January 2 2013 Posted in 2013 blog books Photography Ravelry It can be said with confidence that 2013 is going to be a big year for Matt and I Heck 2012 was pretty significant going to Taiwan Japan lots of great stuff happening in my job Matt being laid off from his job increasing my volunteering in the community etc So while there are some knowns for the next 12 months there are a lot of unknowns that will likely make things interesting As such I m making some goals for 2013 with no pending guilt attached If I manage to pull of all or any of these goals I ll consider it a win Continue reading NYE 2012 Posted on December 31 2012 Posted in 2012 blog books GSE 2012 Taiwan Xmas Here we are It s New Year s Eve NYE and 2012 is coming to a close Last year I decided I wanted to set some resolutions goals for myself I tried to make some SMART goals that were measurable and also not to ambitious I m rounding out the year with mix results Continue reading I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head

re encouraged to bring along new and gently used books as a donation to Literacy NL and the Community Food Sharing Association All books donated that day will be given to local food banks and distributed to families and children It sounds like a fun event for an important cause I m sure we can find some books to donate And books for all ages is encouraged I was chatting with my mom just the other day about my reading habits When I was young I loved to read and it was something my parents always encouraged Both my brother and I were avid readers although I think he had more of a passion for it than I did I remember going through lots of books and also enjoying library visits where I could find something new or fun Do you remember the Baby Sitter Club books I had a few oh yeah I loved those books My eldest niece currently has them but I suspect her reading level is beyond BSC books but they are a nice easy and quick read Into adulthood I ve noticed that I don t read as often as I like I think part of it is the busy lifestyle we have but part of it is due to my ADHD It takes me long enough to get ready for bed at night that by the time I am it s really too late to lie back and get through a chapter or two in the latest read One might say I m really good at dilly dallying But with so many books in our house I d like to really work on reading more It s something I hope Missy Moo will also enjoy since Matt is a super fast speed reader who devours books I ve been reading to little miss and am starting to notice that she s liking some books more than others One book that she absolutely loves is Good Night Moon I m not sure why but maybe it s the fun contrasting colours or something about the words All I know is that she gets excited bounces up and down and grabs at the book whenever we start to read it Thank you Auntie Christina Uncle Joseph and Theo for that book She loves it I wonder if someone will read Good Night Moon on Saturday We ll have to wait and see Oh hai 2013 Posted on January 2 2013 Posted in 2013 blog books Photography Ravelry It can be said with confidence that 2013 is going to be a big year for Matt and I Heck 2012 was pretty significant going to Taiwan Japan lots of great stuff happening in my job Matt being laid off from his job increasing my volunteering in the community etc So while there are some knowns for the next 12 months there are a lot of unknowns that will likely make things interesting As such I m making some

after popping into Romni Wools for a skein of pink Cascade 220 While waiting for a streetcar this sight caught my attention and drummed up some questions Who wrote this Why did they write that question when the rest of the graffiti on the wall is pretty random When was this written Was it last week or a few months ago I ll confess I don t know the lifespan for graffiti on an old building in downtown Toronto Does it handle weather well Do most buildings get this stuff removed if it s worth their time So many questions left unanswered But I ll still keep asking and will probably come up with a few more questions So tell me do you know where you re children are Update May 12 My dad being a smart ass and I m a lot like him when it comes to my sense of humour had this comment when I posted a link to this post on my Facebook The answer maybe writing graffiti or may be taking pictures of graffiti and the other one is in Boston LOL Nice one Dad I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3 GSE 2012 13 Holidays 14 Introduction 1 iPad2 8 iPhone photos 3 Knitting 6 KonMari Method 3 leg warmers 1 Macro 3 Madil Yarns Kid Seta 1

More about that later though as I m long overdue a decent knitting update here For the first time ever I find myself somewhere and I ve run out of yarn projects in the near vicinity how shall I ever cope By reading more pages of The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club by Gil McNeil I m only 80 pages out of 404 in but love it so far When life starts to feel ragged at the edges or you just need to recharge your batteries what s your strategy Knitting Connections Posted on February 18 2009 Posted in Knitting NL While in St John s I wanted to visit a couple knitting related places On Monday Stacey and I ventured over to Wool Trends It s a local yarn shop that unbeknownst to me has been in existence for 11 years I guess it s true that you don t notice something unless it s relevant to you From the outside the store looks like a house But it s much more than that it s basically 2 1 2 floors of yarn yarn and more yarn There were some various types that were new to me and more than a few I m not ready to use just yet e g sock yarn I did pick up some yarn to make a cute hat when I start it I ll post something here Otherwise the visit was more for the fun of it and a base reference so that I know what s available for future interest The next stop was Nonia which is located downtown on Water Street Side note That s Stacey in the photo I was busy taking photos that s usually the case these days I ve heard that Nonia has some lovely things there and even yarn for sale unfortunately it seems that they re closed on Mondays Because we flew back to Toronto on Tuesday morning and that it was obviously impossible to grab a Tardis and go back in time Doctor Who reference I was sh t out of luck This was both annoying and disappointing but ah well it s something I ll make sure to plan for when we return in June for Darleen and Mark s When living in St John s I had heard of Nonia but again it didn t really have an impact on me nor did it seem like a significant place to visit But now that I m a knitter it s caught my attention It was my mother in law who lives in Barrie that suggested I visit Nonia during this recent visit It s interesting since moving to Toronto I ve become more aware of smaller stores and boutiques in general For anyone familiar with Queen West in Toronto there are lots of shops around the Queen W and Spadina area Unfortunately there are more and more chains or box stores popping up But the smaller stores that do
