else a little girl might enjoy having My parents were also aware that having epic battles to get me to throw away certain things wasn t worth it especially if my OCD was just going to upset me with having to let something go and toss it This includes lots of past school projects old pencil tops and random pieces of paper and other silly stuff This has resulted in a lot of stuff that has been at their house for many many years Once Matt and I moved into a home of our own slowly but surly boxes have made their way into our house that were once cluttering up my parents basement and my old bedroom There are some things I want to keep of course some of my better Barbies children s books all of My Little Ponies I can t part with them it s just not possible etc There s also a lot of junk I can easily either toss or sell in a yard sale My goal is to try and go through as many of those boxes as I can in the next year Whatever I keep I need to be able to justify it s existence and right to take up space in our home Edit and sort photos This may sound simple but it s a pretty lofty goal We have A LOT of photos that I have taken but never really done anything with I m slowly accepting the fact that I need to accept that deleting photos that aren t perfect is OK It s also OK to delete photos when you have multiple copies of the same photo I really really want to sort through a lot of our photos and actually print some of them off and put them in photo albums I also want to upload these photos to my Flickr account as a means of backing them up and have them available to share with family and friends I m also playing around with the idea of doing the photo a day for a year that a few friends have done I ve taken a photo a day the past two days and I ll probably start uploading them to my Flickr account but I haven t made a full on commitment to this yet So there you have it My goals for 2013 Maybe I should have made them more baby focused Maybe they ll all get tossed out the window once the little one arrives and our lives are turned upside down I have no idea Have you made any goals or resolutions for 2013 Feel free to share or to comment on the ones I ve mentioned Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading 2 Comments NYE 2012 The ambitious and naive new mom 2 Responses Rob Woolridge says January 3 2013 at 2 19 am I like your goals Very attainable and practical Totally understand the

How often will I recall a piece of news I read yet I ll have difficulty remembering if it was originally read either in a news alert an post on Facebook a tweet on Twitter or on a website or online news service Sometimes this can cause repetition and a lot of noise And often it can cause certain news stories to seem more important because people active in social media are either sharing the information at a higher frequency or you just notice it more because you re not hearing about the other stuff that s floating around in the news world But don t worry I won t let this go to my head I ll try to stay grounded and humble Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading May the fourth be with you Mommy Musing Monday Baby Swearing Leave a Reply What do you think Join the conversation Cancel reply I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3 GSE 2012 13 Holidays 14 Introduction 1 iPad2 8 iPhone photos 3 Knitting 6 KonMari Method 3 leg warmers 1 Macro 3 Madil Yarns Kid Seta 1 Marketing 7 Meme 8 Memorial Day 2 Miranda 27 Monday Musing 1 Montreal 2 MR 4 Music 1 Musing Monday 40 NL 33 Nostalgic 21 Ontario 11 Ottawa 1 Parenting 54

few weeks I don t want to throw stones from my own glass house either At the end of April I returned to Weight Watchers WW I became a lifetime member back in 2009 I loved attending the meetings and found it to be a program that encouraged me to eat healthier and to exercise and move more at they ll say in WW speak I ve lost almost 20 lbs I m really proud of my progress so far and I ll write more about it later As a marketing and communications professional I understand the drive behind advertising But it doesn t mean I have to like the approach that is sometime involved So I ll say what I m thinking Not cool Facebook Not cool at all I m on Facebook so that I can keep in touch with friends family and even some professional contacts that have become friends whom I want to share more than the odd random interaction with every few months I like to read the latest location and national news I enjoy seeing photos of someone s adorable dog their vacation photos or a cute child that deserves to have someone click the like button It s too bad those advertising bots and their fancy algorithms can t read this post to help refocus their ads for me At the end of the day it s nothing personal it s just business But it still as frustrating as hell And that s my rant for the week Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading 1 Comment Mommy Musing Monday Sleep When She Sleeps They Said ThrowbackThursday Swimming swimming in my giant pool One Response Gary Hilson GaryInToronto says July 15 2013 at 11 44 am I rarely see the ads on Facebook thanks to AdBlock but when I do I m offered treatment for gout and invited to join Christian singles groups which is odd considering what I ve written in the religion category on my profile I do wonder if I should read up on the symptoms of gout however Reply Leave a Reply What do you think Join the conversation Cancel reply I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3 GSE 2012 13 Holidays 14 Introduction 1 iPad2 8 iPhone photos 3 Knitting 6 KonMari Method 3 leg warmers 1 Macro 3 Madil Yarns Kid Seta 1 Marketing 7 Meme 8 Memorial Day 2 Miranda 27 Monday Musing 1 Montreal 2 MR 4 Music 1 Musing Monday 40 NL 33

I was able to reach my goal Of course having a supportive husband was also handy since it meant we had to change a lot of our eating habits but it was a win win for us both in the end Weight Watchers also help me to understand my body s food preferences It also allowed me realize that some foods are just going to stick with me longer than others so it s better to make a healthy choice and not feel like I m starving later than to always go for the greasy short term food I ve also discovered that there are so many great recipes out there that are pretty healthy but you d never know it by how tasty the end result is on your plate and in your stomach Over the past year I ve remained at goal and only have a few extra pounds creep up when I wasn t paying attention There were some stressful months this past spring but as my weight went up a little it was an internal alarm bell that I wasn t properly taking care of myself I had to refocus my priorities and start putting myself first because if you don t do that for yourself who will The holidays aren t an easy time of year and I m preparing for that now Matt and I start beginner yoga classes on Saturday and I m hoping to join a 5k clinic at the Running Room soon I ve dusted off our Wii Fit and will be using it more regularly as it s an easy way to get some exercise in without having to go far literally walking across the upstairs hall And it s about time I cleared some space around the treadmill so that it gets some love as well So before the New Year is upon us is there anything you re doing to feel healthier Have you taken up a new exercise program Even simple things like walking more or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can make such a difference And don t tell yourself that you have to suffer and can t eat your special treats ever again You can still have that KitKat or your medium fries just don t have them everyday Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading Worlds of Me New Year New Inspirations Leave a Reply What do you think Join the conversation Cancel reply I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3

to be the only time of year to set goals ridicule our failures and set unreasonable expectations So in proper hypocritical fashion I ve decided to give myself a few goals read resolutions I just don t want to call them resolutions Goals can be measurable and there will be clear evidence as to whether or not I meet these goals Continue reading Tweet This Posted on July 14 2011 Posted in 2011 Dilbert Facebook Social Media As usual another comic full of win from Dilbert This is from Tuesday July 12 2011 I ll confess that I m not a daily Dilbert devotee like that alliteration but I do visit the site every few weeks and take a few minutes to catch up When someone asks about my usage of social media tools I often receive comments like Well I m too busy to waste so much time on stuff like that And I have to be honest it s getting increasingly annoying I don t have time to natter on about your favourite reality TV show nor to I bother wasting hours watching it but I m not getting snarky at you Sorry but I m not interested in the latest cutie that was unfairly was voted off this week Despite what you may think I m not playing around on Facebook or Twitter or Google all day When I share something to one of these social media platforms it s while I m researching or getting up to date on current events If I see something interesting I ll hit a button on that website that will allow me to post a link to one of my social media pages Ironically it probably takes you longer to read my post click on the link and then evaluate whether or not you want to take in all of the information on that page So maybe I m not the one wasting more time 48 Half Hours Posted on June 24 2011 Posted in 2011 Facebook Marketing NL PR technology If you didn t hear there was an really brilliant contest held on Facebook for 48 hours involving Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism and WestJet Image screen captured from their Facebook Group It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm both on the NL Tourism Facebook page as well as the excited posts I saw in my news feed of friends and family both local and abroad vying to win Continue reading I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3 GSE 2012 13 Holidays 14 Introduction
