This is something I could talk and write about all day and night and there would never be enough time to cover everything Christmas and the holidays have always been a big deal in my family and I ve dug up two videos that can help visualize what it s like for us Every year relatives from both my Mom s and Dad s families get together to celebrate this special time of year There are often sing alongs lots of food and many laughs Click on the videos twice to see their YouTube details 2 See the Christmas lights in those hidden pockets of the city Do you have any idea how intense the Christmas decorating is in St John s and the surrounding communities There are houses that are pretty much covered from top to bottom with lights and colours I ll try to get some photos and video footage this year to really show how crazy and awesome it can be 3 Have an annual dinner with friends from high school It may seem odd to a lot of people but most of my friends back in St John s have been my closest and dearest friends since High School even Junior High and Elementary School for some Amongst a few of us is a tradition to get together on December 23rd We normally have a potluck but this year we re going out for dinner We have a blast and it s a great tradition that will hopefully continue for many more years 4 Spend time with my parents and immediate family I have a lot of family and friends in St John s and it isn t always possible to see EVERYONE in 10 short days It has literally been a year and half since I last saw my brother sister in law and two adorable nieces We re all pretty excited that we re all home for Christmas this year and being able to spend time with them and my parents is going to be so great This photo was taken in St John s Airport back in either 2006 or 2007 just before my husband Matt and I returned to Toronto 5 RELAX Going home is always fun but relaxing isn t always something that happens easily With so many friends and family to see and things to do it can leave you exhausted and a bit dizzy by the end of it all My poor husband is used to a much quieter Christmas and he s a real trooper to keep up with me and the fast pace of it all This holiday season I hope to read more work on some knitting and make sure I feel rested when returning to work on January 4th So those are my hopes for the holidays What are your plans Did any of the above seem familiar to you Do you have certain traditions or must haves that really make this season magical for

Steven D Levitt and Stephen J Dubner this was recommended by a certain past associate director who s awesome and insisted that this go on my reading list I ll let you know what I think when I finish Ivan I plan to read much more than just these six but I have a lot of marketing communications and social media books and need to try and get focused Having a list to check off will help Oh crap I just noticed that I also have Naked Conversations by Shel Israel and it too is sign but unread Perhaps it will be added as a bonus book for 2012 I really am a book fangirl Oy Go to the gym more than twice a month Wow this is a really sad reflection on my work out regiment of 2010 Twice a month That s it Well after how sick and busy I was in the fall I don t want to declare that I ll be there multiple times a week only to have myself deflated my a quick failure This is more of a minimum and not a well that will be good enough right Look out The Works You ll be seeing me more in 2012 I m actually out of the country for all of March and part of April so I ll have to figure out some way of being active while away It won t involve getting a Taiwan gym membership but there are other things I can do Clean out my sock drawer This is my low hanging fruit in the group The under acheiver The easy high five to make yourself feel good It s when you add something to your to do list that s nice and easy so that you have that satisfying moment of crossing it off your list And this is less of a goal and more a necessity My sock drawer is over flowing with too many socks I rarely wear and far far too many mismatches and leftovers of socks whose partner has gone rogue Who s taking best that this the goal I avoid the most Have you made any resolutions or goal for 2012 If not feel free to share why Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading 2 Comments Add a little carpe diem to your 2012 2012 Goal Update 2 Responses Cheryl Lynn Roberts says January 9 2012 at 9 39 pm I like that you have written goals rather than resolutions I have several goals but I am not sure I am prepared to share all of them because just because I know I will feel the pressure to HAVE to do it and then I won t wanta do it whine whine So one important goal is to take more time for me and visit friends In the past 2 years since my move back to Quebec with my new and unloved late evening shifts I

sounds like a fun event for an important cause I m sure we can find some books to donate And books for all ages is encouraged I was chatting with my mom just the other day about my reading habits When I was young I loved to read and it was something my parents always encouraged Both my brother and I were avid readers although I think he had more of a passion for it than I did I remember going through lots of books and also enjoying library visits where I could find something new or fun Do you remember the Baby Sitter Club books I had a few oh yeah I loved those books My eldest niece currently has them but I suspect her reading level is beyond BSC books but they are a nice easy and quick read Into adulthood I ve noticed that I don t read as often as I like I think part of it is the busy lifestyle we have but part of it is due to my ADHD It takes me long enough to get ready for bed at night that by the time I am it s really too late to lie back and get through a chapter or two in the latest read One might say I m really good at dilly dallying But with so many books in our house I d like to really work on reading more It s something I hope Missy Moo will also enjoy since Matt is a super fast speed reader who devours books I ve been reading to little miss and am starting to notice that she s liking some books more than others One book that she absolutely loves is Good Night Moon I m not sure why but maybe it s the fun contrasting colours or something about the words All I know is that she gets excited bounces up and down and grabs at the book whenever we start to read it Thank you Auntie Christina Uncle Joseph and Theo for that book She loves it I wonder if someone will read Good Night Moon on Saturday We ll have to wait and see Share this Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Google Email Like this Like Loading Gobble Gobble Mommy Musing Monday Baby Brain s Revenge Leave a Reply What do you think Join the conversation Cancel reply I want to read about I want to read about Select Category 2009 1 2010 12 2011 21 2012 34 2013 76 2014 11 2015 9 2016 1 Aikido 1 Baby 52 Birthday 6 blog 12 Bobble head Ted 1 books 8 Bull Pond 3 Canada Day 5 Cascade 220 2 CCME 1 Comics Images 4 communication 6 Dilbert 5 Dreams 1 email fail 3 Facebook 10 Family 41 Food 19 Friday 5 2 Friends 7 Fundraising 4 Gardening 2 Girl Guides 3 GSE 2012 13 Holidays 14 Introduction 1 iPad2 8 iPhone photos 3 Knitting 6 KonMari Method 3 leg warmers
